Katrina M. Watson is the creator of The Confident Counselor Method, where she empowers school counselors to navigate their daily challenges with confidence, enabling them to better support students in reaching their academic and personal goals. With over 16 years of experience in advising culturally diverse and inclusive high school and college students, Katrina specializes in best-fit university guidance, career counseling, academic advising, financial resources, and social-emotional well-being. Originally from Los Angeles, California, Katrina earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling, with a focus on Student Development in Higher Education, from California State University, Long Beach. In 2013, she embarked on an international counseling career, working with students from over 100 nationalities. She currently serves as an International Application Admissions Reader for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is an active member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), International Association for College Admissions & Counseling (IACAC), and International School Counselor Association (ISCA). Katrina has visited numerous colleges and universities worldwide, gaining insights that have helped students secure spots at top 100-ranked universities. She also created a Udemy course titled Simplifying the College Application Process from A-Z, designed to make the college admissions journey more accessible. In her free time, Katrina publishes new episodes of The Well Rounded Counselor Podcast and shares expert advice on her YouTube channel, Well Rounded Admissions. She recently published the book The Well Rounded Counselor: Considerations for International College Counselors, further solidifying her commitment to supporting the next generation of counselors and students.
